About
I grew up surrounded by nature, folklore and imagined worlds. Forests, animals, myths and the sense that ordinary places might hold something hidden shaped the way I learned to see.
I have always been drawn to many forms of making, from painting and photography to pottery and performance. Yet painting is where these interests seem to meet.. Image, atmosphere, texture, memory and emotion can exist together without needing to be explained.
My paintings often emerge through movement : travelling, observing, experiencing, drifting through unfamiliar landscapes, collecting impressions before they disappear. I think of them less as depictions of places and more as states of becoming. Every place I travel to reveals a different fragment of myself. Landscapes have become mirrors for my inner world that’s full of dreams, memories, longings and transitions. They stay with me long after I leave, slowly shifting in my mind until they find their way into my work.
The imagery in my art is largely influenced by the dozens of fantasy films I used to watch growing up. Their worlds felt real to me. All the mythical lands, sacred objects, hidden realms, animals with secret missions and private lives beyond human understanding. That way of seeing never left me.
In my work, nature is never just scenery. Mountains are watchful, water holds emotion, animals and sea treasures become symbolic presences. Pearls, shells and natural elements appear in my paintings almost like evidence from another realm - fragments washed ashore from the subconscious. I am moved by the invisible tension between the external world and the inner one - the feeling that places remember us, that objects carry emotional residue, the invisible conversations that unfolds between strangers, that something mythical and charged quietly exists beneath ordinary life.
Everything in this world feels layered to me. I have always been drawn to dreams, not as something separate from waking life, but woven into it : a place where memories, fears, images and intuitions continue to move. Films I watched as a child still reappear years later, altered and rearranged, as recurring symbols in my dreams and paintings. I am drawn to the feeling that everything is secretly connected - that images pass between memory and vision, dream and reality, shaping one another in ways we rarely fully notice.
